Driving comes with responsibility. Not only is a driver responsible for himself/herself but also for other drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists, and anyone else on the road. Safe driving is the number one way to prevent car accidents. The capital of the South is commonly ranked as the nation’s top cities with traffic. Cited as the eight worst American city for traffic by The Weather Channel, Atlanta’s highways are congested daily.
I-285, I-85, I-75, I-20, and Georgia 400 are popular roadways for those traveling to work, traveling to school, traveling to the airport, etc.

Unfortunately, more congestion and traffic can cause more Atlanta traffic accidents. Rear-end accidents are more common during traffic rush hours than any other time of the day.

The two most common ways that rear-end accidents happen are a car following too closely or a driver is distracted. In a typical rear-end collision, the driver who hits the vehicle in front is held liable and at fault for the accident.

There are many factors that can contribute to a rear-end accident:

Following too closely (tailgating);
Drastic changes in speed that make it difficult to stop in time;
Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol;
Unsafe lane changes;
Inclement weather that limits visibility and alters the road conditions;
Brake malfunctions or tire problems.

To try and avoid being involved in a rear-end crash follow these safe driving tips.

Obey all traffic signs and signals;
Pay attention (avoid being distracted while driving);
Be aware of your car in relation to other objects on the road;
Don’t rely on other drivers to be as responsible as you.

Following these few, but important, tips for safe driving can help prevent you causing or being in a car accident.

But, we do know that these days accidents are bound to happen. Georgia car crashes happen each and every day. A driver is focused on changing the radio and doesn’t see the car swerving into the lane. A bicyclist has a flat tire and causes a fender bender as cars bump into each other avoiding the cyclist. The list of reason could go on and on.

So, drive safely and be extra cautious during rush-traffic hours.
