Representative Clients

General Counsel to the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador on general fiscal and tax issues relating to the Hibernia Project.

Represented groups of parents from the French-speaking minorities in all of the four Atlantic provinces to defend their rights to educate their children in their mother tongue, as stated in clause 23 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Counsel to Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro for the multi-billion dollar Lower Churchill hydro-electric power development project. This is the largest hydro-electric project in North America and one of the world's largest.

Counsel for the Halifax Regional Municipality in connection with the Harbour Solutions Project to implement an advanced sewage treatment system for raw sewage discharge into Halifax Harbour.

Represent Swissair and its insurers in relation to various claims emanating from the crash of Swissair Flight 111 off Nova Scotia.

Diamond Field Resources Inc. on the multi-million-dollar mineral project in Voisey's Bay, Labrador, including the sale of the mining interest to Inco Limited.

Act as legal counsel to the Board of Commissioners of Public Utilities in New Brunswick in the Board's regulation of the natural gas utility.
Counsel for the Government of Canada on the $840-million Confederation Bridge.

Represent Ashford Investments Inc. in the public-private partnership with the Province of Nova Scotia to develop and operate new educational facilities costing in excess of $162 million.

ABN AMRO Bank of New York on a $300-million secured financing of oil cargo shipments delivered by tankers to an oil refinery in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Act for Etruscan Resources Inc., a TSE-listed resource company, now capitalized at $100 million. Currently involved in the structuring and negotiation of a US$25-million debt and equity facility to finance the construction of a mine in West Africa.

Counsel to the developers of a "design-build-finance-operate" model of public-private partnering for an agricultural commodity trans-shipment facility in Gdansk, Poland.

Act as legal counsel to the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador on the $4-billion Terra Nova offshore oil project.

Legal counsel to the Province of Nova Scotia on the privatization of Nova Scotia Power Corporation.
