Abdo Law Firm is a dedicated law firm located in Clinton Township, Michigan. Our attorneys practice extensively in Macomb, Oakland and Wayne County circuit and district courts. We are lifelong Michigan residents and proudly have maintained our law practice in Macomb County since 1980. We take great pride in the fact that many of our clients routinely refer their friends and family to us and have remained loyal to our firm for more than 25 years.
We also understand the needs of clients who live in Canada or out-of-state and need a Michigan lawyer. In 2010, we represented a hunter who shot his friend by accident while in Northern Michigan. Although alcohol was involved, we were able to control a bad situation by negotiating a substantial plea bargain to a misdemeanor, avoiding a felony conviction and jail!
Practice Areas
Additional Practice Areas: Driver License Restoration; Probation Violations; Medical Marijuana; Disorderly Conduct; Minor In Possession; Larceny, Stolen Property, Fraud
Practice Areas Description
Our areas of practice include:- Criminal Defense
Our law firm handles All felony and misdemeanors, possession/delivery of drugs or marijuana, criminal sexual conduct, larceny, retail fraud, domestic violence, assaults, weapons, internet crimes, breaking & entering, embezzlement, disorderly conduct, stolen property, homicide, fleeing, resisting and obstruction, federal crimes
- Drunk Driving
We assist clients in All felony and misdemeanors involving drinking and driving, operating while intoxicated or impaired driving, OWI, OWPD, OWVI, first, second or third offense, super drunk, child endangerment, zero tolerance, OWI causing death or serious injury
- Driver License Restoration
Our law firm handles License revocation appeals and hearings before the DAAD and circuit court.
- Probation Violations
Our law firm knows that the terms of probation can be burdensome and compliance is not always possible. For example, a person charged with a drug crime may fail a drug test which will constitute a violation of probation. Our office would encourage the violated party to proactively seek a substance abuse relapse prevention program before court.
- Juvenile Cases
Our law firm will assist your family to protect all of your child's rights in Macomb County. In many cases, we can have the charge(s) dismissed by application of special provisions of law. However, if the case cannot be resolved, your child will receive experienced counsel and representation for his or her trial. If your child is in trouble with juvenile authorities, let us help you understand the system and all of your options.
- Traffic Tickets
Our law firm has many years of success defending civil infractions including speeding and careless driving, and more serious criminal traffic violations in all Macomb County courts. There may be circumstances which will allow us to obtain a dismissal, reduction of your ticket (less points) or amend your ticket to a zero (0) point violation. We can also provide driver license restoration services before the Michigan Secretary of State, Driver Appeal and Assessment Division (DAAD) at their Livonia and Port Huron locations.
- Wills and Estates
Our law firm can provide representation to prepare your estate plan. We will listen to your goals and respond with an appropriate estate plan. A basic estate plan should include a Will, Durable Power of Attorney and Medical Care Power of Attorney which appoints a Patient Care Advocate who can work with your doctors to make decisions when you are unable to do so.
- Personal Injuries
Our attorney will seek all possible damages to compensate an injured party or surviving family for any and all losses. Under Michigan law, an injured party or qualified survivors may recover monetary damages against the wrongful party at fault for loss of past, present and future earnings and medical expenses, disfigurement, scars, pain and suffering. Punitive damages may be awarded in tort law cases where the defendant's wrongdoing is deemed willful or malicious.
