AL H. THOMAS is founder of the law firm of Al H. Thomas & Associates where he has a trial litigation emphasis on medical malpractice and has practiced trial law for the past 50 years. Mr. Thomas has been a frequent speaker on medical malpractice and trial topics.He began his solo firm in the early 1960s practicing in many areas. In 1985 he became interested in medical malpractice and has represented plaintiffs in medical malpractice for 25 years.
He has also tried cases in New York, Florida, Arkansas and Mississippi. He has received several jury verdicts in excess of one million dollars.
He attended Memphis State University and Southern University College of Law simultaneously from 1949 to 1954 interrupted by two years in the military. After a few years of practice, Mr. Thomas joined Southern University Colleges faculty and today is the only surviving faculty member.
Mr. Thomas first practiced with Rosenfield, Borod, Fones and Bogatin and later with Hannover, Hannover, Hannover and Walsh. In his solo practice he has practiced in many areas with a heavy emphasis on real estate, beginning practice in medical malpractice in 1985.
