Law Firm Overview
Al Tamimi & Company, originally established in Sharjah in 1989 by Essam Al Tamimi, is today one of the leading law firms in the Arabian Gulf region. It is the largest independent law firm in the United Arab Emirates with four offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the Dubai Internet City.Clients are ably served by an international team of over 30 high-caliber lawyers from the United Kingdom, North America, Europe, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates and several other Arab countries. Each member of our team of professionals and qualified administrative staff is fully committed to providing our clients with accurate, creative and cost effective advice. In addition, we have the largest and most experienced team of U.A.E. national advocates with rights of audience before the U.A.E. courts. This combination makes us unique in being able to offer our clients first class representation in both consultancy and advocacy services.
We pride ourselves on our complete knowledge of the laws and regulations applicable to our home jurisdiction and the commercial community abroad. Within the U.A.E. we regularly confer with government ministries during the introduction of new legislation and the ongoing amendment of internal regulations, relying on long established contacts in all government departments.
The firm can assist multinational companies to establish operations in the U.A.E. independently, or in association with local partners. Both our local clients, many of whom have business interests outside the United Arab Emirates, and international companies, rely on our global perspective. We subscribe to the belief that the world of opportunity does not recognize national boundaries.
Our especially renowned Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law practice advises clients on legal aspects of data protection, domain name registration, cybersquatting and software protection.
The firm has represented leading multinational and local companies both regionally and internationally with the protection of their intellectual property rights and the enforcement thereof. We are actively enforcing copyrights for the leading software companies, and carrying out anti-piracy work on a regional basis for them.
