Anderlini & Emerick LLP is a small civil litigation law firm formed by two local lawyers who have worked together for decades. Our law firm was born when veteran attorneys P. Terry Anderlini and Merrill G. Emerick separated from a larger San Mateo law firm in order to set up a smaller, more streamlined operation. Our two partners each have more than 20 years' experience practicing law in Northern California. They bring their decades of practical experience to bear on behalf of each client's legal problem — no matter how large or small the issue.

Our attorneys have served in leadership positions in several different legal organizations, including the California State Bar, the San Mateo Bar Association and the San Mateo Trial Lawyers Association. As seasoned California attorneys, our senior partners — P. Terry Anderlini and Merrill G. Emerick — have both often been called on to serve as arbitrators by other attorneys in the San Francisco Bay Area. We also frequently represent both commercial and individual clients in arbitration proceedings. Some of the most common circumstances in which arbitration is used include: Commercial contract disputes; Real estate conflicts, such as homeowners' association conflicts over covenants and restrictions (CCNRs); Personal injury cases, including car accident cases involving uninsured/ underinsured motorist coverage; and Insurance disputes between the insurance company and the insured, especially claims of bad faith failure to pay.

We are able to offer the complete services of a much larger law firm in a smaller, friendlier setting. Our seasoned attorneys have decades of legal experience, including significant experience handling civil appeals. Attorney Merrill G. Emerick has dozens of appeals to his credit. We offer civil appeals representation both for cases we handled at the trial level and for clients who are seeking a new attorney to handle their appeal.
