We provide legal assistance oh the following areas of practice:

- Trademarks

Our firm is conscious of the importance of keeping a trade mark registered and our intention is to make clients feel that their trade marks are protected and to be confident that we guard their portfolio and act immediately when their trade marks are infringed, quickly eliminating any possibility of diminishing the value of their marks. For the clients for which we handle all their trade mark matters, we undertake a regular review of their portfolio together with conducting of an overview of the Romanian trade mark market and advise on possible conflicts from the third parties' newly registered or not-registered trade marks.

- Industrial Design

Our firm's intention is to give our clients' advise on the best protection for their creations, therefore including design registrations. As a consequence, we advise upon registration requirements and filing industrial models and designs registrations, renewals procedures and undertake design searches. We also advise on assignment and licensing of design rights and drafted a wide range of assigning and licensing documents. When instructed, we also register the drafted assigning and licensing agreements with the Romanian State Office for Patents and Trade Marks ('SOPTM'). We represent clients in front of SOPTM in opposition and appeal procedures and reply to SOPTM's objections as well as in front of the Courts and Customs authorities with respect to industrial infringements and counterfeited products. Our firm is conscious of the importance of keeping a design registered and, in consequence, upon consent of the client, attends to the renewal of the designs prior to the given deadlines. We also act in litigation cases on behalf of our clients.

- Patents

The Firm is currently representing known pharmaceutical companies in various matters in front of the Romanian Patent Office including extension in Romania of patent protection granted by PCT and filing for European Patents in Romania. Our intention is also to make clients feel that their patents are protected in Romania and to be confident that we guard their portfolio and act immediately when their patents are infringed.

- Copyright

Our firm has a vast experience in advising multinational clients on copyright matters with respect to the best mean of evidencing the protection of a work by copyright. We prepare memorandums to clients regarding the Romanian legal system, identify options and consult with the client as to the steps to be taken in copyright infringing cases. We are extremely active in finding the best solutions in the most difficult such cases. Most of the copyright infringement cases were settled by negotiation, which evidences our intention to always consider the best interest of our clients. We also advise on licensing of copyrights and drafted a wide range of such documents.

- Domain Names

Our Firm helps clients in registering and protecting domain names. We have been involved along the years in a number of different court cases regarding domain names among which bad-faith domain registrations and trademark infringement. We are proud to say that our attorneys were successful in shutting down infringing sites and recovered domain names for our clients. We have also been handling criminal cases for unlawful use of a trademark within a domain name and selling of counterfeited goods via the internet.

A company can chose between registering a discovery and, therefore, taking the risk of making it public, or protecting such discovery by secrecy.
