Law Firm Overview

The Arnold Law Firm aggressively represents Californians injured by the negligent or careless actions of others. For more than 30 years we have fought for full compensation of medical bills, lost income and other damages for the victims of accidents and catastrophic injuries. Our Sacramento legal team prides itself in giving each client the individual attention they need.

The Arnold Law Firm was founded in 1975 by Clayeo C. Arnold. Mr. Arnold began his law firm with one secretary and a law clerk. His primary practice was representing the injured and handling Worker’s Compensation claims. Mr. Arnold soon discovered that he found satisfaction and fulfillment in the civil jury system and representing those who were injured. Consequently, in 1980, he began practicing solely personal injury law. Mr. Arnold’s law firm now consists of 10 attorneys and 15 staff members who are devoted to their clients, the firm, and each other.

Through its involvement in such organizations as American Board of Trial Advocates, American Association for Justice, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Consumer Attorneys of California, Capitol City Trial Lawyers Association, and National Brain Institute the firm is active in supporting legislation to protect and advance the rights of injured persons. In addition to working together, they enjoy going to community and charity events such as Walk For Thought, The Race For The Cure, and many other events.

Practice Areas Description

- Automobile Accidents

If you've just been injured in a car wreck, you are not alone. Millions of automobile accidents occur in the U.S. each year. In 2007, drivers reported more than 6 million automobile accidents to police; 2.5 million people were injured and more than 41,000 people killed, including 3,974 fatalities in the state of California. As a victim of a car or truck accident, you may be suffering from injuries that will mean long-lasting or permanent pain and disabilities. You may have a pile of unpaid medical bills, and you may have lost your only source of income because you’re unable to work. When your injuries were caused by the careless driving of another motorist, you deserve compensation, and Arnold Law Firm is here to help.

- Birth Injuries

Preventable birth injuries can be among the most emotional and devastating forms of medical malpractice, with life-long consequences on a child and his or her parents. During a birth, even the slightest errors can have lifelong medical consequences because of the vulnerability of both patients – the mother and the newborn child. Certain births are more complicated than others and may increase the risk of birth injury. Conditions that increase the chance of birth injury include ruptured uterus, separation of the placenta before birth and umbilical cord complications. In these situations, established practices are in place to ensure patient safety. When a birth injury occurs because a health professional fails to follow established medical procedures, medical malpractice may have occurred.

- Brain Injury

Brain injuries typically fall into take one of two categories. The most common type of brain injury is known as a Traumatic Brain Injury or TBI, where the brain is injured as a result of physical trauma. The second type involves medical malpractice, where a brain is injured due to the mistake or negligence of a doctor or other health care professional.

- Defective Medical Devices

Consumer medical devices take many forms, from artificial joints to heart monitors and pacemakers. We rely on these devices to overcome injury or illness and live better lives. Unfortunately, the trust we place in these devices and their manufacturers is sometimes betrayed by dangerous defects that result in serious injury and death. When California patients are harmed by medical devices, they turn to the Arnold Law Firm for legal guidance and representation. If you or a loved on has been injured by a medical device, you are likely suffering from unexpected medical bills. You may also be losing income. We can help you receive the financial compensation you deserve for these expenses.

- Emergency Room Malpractice

Emergency rooms are busy places. Doctors and nurses are only human, and sometimes mistakes are made. But when these mistakes cause an injury or death because a health professional fails to follow standard practices, medical malpractice may have occurred. The nature of emergency medicine – high stress and large numbers of patients – makes emergency rooms more susceptible to medical errors. Many of these errors may be small and of little consequence, because patients are often admitted to another area of the hospital where mistakes or oversight can be easily corrected.

- Foodborne Illness

Despite advances in food safety regulations, foodborne illness continues to be a common problem in the United States. Every year, contaminated food infects about 76 million people, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Contracting foodborne illness can be a dangerous experience. The illness can leave lasting injuries to the body’s organs and, in extreme cases, cause death. Such an illness can leave you with unmanageable medical bills. You could also lose wages if you are required to miss work for long periods during recovery. Fortunately, it may be possible to receive compensation for these expenses by contacting our firm and pursuing a claim against the party or parties responsible for your illness.

- Medical Malpractice

The Institute of Medicine has reported that close to 100,000 people die every year in the United States because of medical errors. When these errors are the result of a doctor, nurse or other health professional failing to follow established standards, medical malpractice may have occurred. Victims of medical malpractice may be entitled to monetary damages. Compensatory damages compensate a victim for bills, lost income or other costs resulting from their medical malpractice injury.

- Motorcycle Accidents

If you've been injured in a California motorcycle accident caused by another driver, you want to know who will pay your medical bills and replace your lost wages - and you also want to know who is going to cover the damage to your bike. California is home to thousands of motorcyclists, thanks to the state’s moderate weather and famously scenic highway systems. Unfortunately, motorcyclists are about 15 percent more likely to be involved in a crash than a car or truck driver, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

- Nursing Home Injury

Placing a family member in a nursing home is difficult decision, and one that requires us to trust the facility to provide attentive care and a safe environment. Unfortunately, nursing home abuse and neglect are widespread problems. In fact, more than 90 percent of nursing homes were cited for deficiencies in care during a three-year period studied by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service. Nursing home residents are uniquely vulnerable to abuse and neglect. Most suffer from physical limitations and are dependent on others for assistance in basic daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, eating and using the toilet.

- Personal Injury

Arnold Law Firm is committed to the aggressive representation of Californians who have been injured by the careless or reckless actions of others. In our 30 years of practice, our mission has remained constant—to ensure that California accident victims are fully and fairly compensated for their losses. When you’re struggling with physical pain and a stack of medical bills, you shouldn’t have to fight the insurance companies on your own for the financial compensation you deserve. Arnold Law Firm can help.

- Product Safety

Everyday products such as toys, furniture, sports equipment, and electrical appliances can cause property losses and injure or kill, even when used as directed. In fact, the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission estimates there were 13.2 million product-related injuries and 5,439 deaths in the United States in 2007.

- Pharmaceutical Litigation

Pharmaceuticals products are an essential part of our everyday lives. But some of these products are dangerous. Medication should help, not hurt. Much of the time, this idea works as it should. Unfortunately, a system of weak regulations and profit incentive has developed that allows dangerous drugs to reach innocent consumers. Too many of them have been injured or killed by drugs with harmful side effects.

- Truck Accidents

Nationwide, large truck wrecks claimed 4,808 lives in the United States in 2007. In California, large truck crashes caused 365 deaths and injured another 10,024 motorists, according to data from the California Highway Patrol. Sadly, Sacramento County, with its complex of busy highways, was home to 11 tractor trailer deaths and 348 injuries. Many of those tractor trailer accidents were caused by the carelessness of truck drivers. If you or a loved one has been injured by a truck driver in a Northern California tractor trailer accident, you should not have to pay for the driver's mistake.

- Vehicle Accidents

In 2007, someone was injured in a California car wreck every two hours and twelve minutes. The year 2007 saw 184,994 people whose lives were damaged by car, truck or motorcycle accidents, according to the state of California. It just takes one car wreck to destroy a livelihood – for one person or for a family. If you were injured in a car wreck, you could suffer lost wages or the loss of your job. The medical expenses of automobile injury can also be unmanageable. You or a loved one could require surgery, hospital stays, repeated doctor visits, medication, and rehabilitation.

- Workplace Injury

In 2007, more than half a million workers were injured on the job in California, according to the California Department of Industrial Relations. If you are one of the unfortunate victims, your injury may be covered by workers compensation insurance paid for by your employer. But there may be limitations to your workers compensation that prevent you from receiving the medical care and financial compensation you deserve.

- Wrongful Death

A wrongful death occurs when death is caused by the negligence or misconduct of an individual or company. The loss of a family member can be among life’s worst experiences. When death occurs because of the fault of another, the pain can be even more difficult to bear. Untimely deaths often leave immediate burdens that can overwhelm survivors. Unfortunately, your rights expire quickly. Time is of the essence. You need an attorney who is experienced in wrongful death law and able to compassionately guide you and your family through a sensitive and difficult time.
