Practice Areas Description
At Bishop Law Office, P.C., our experienced and trusted Arizona divorce and family law attorneys represent your interests in all areas of family law and divorce issues including but not limited to the following:- Divorce Proceedings
We represent people throughout Arizona who are going through a divorce. To sit down with an experienced family law attorney to learn more about your divorce, contact one of our offices in Phoenix or Tempe.
- Divorce Mediation
We provide mediation services. However, be advised that attorneys cannot act as both your mediator and your individual attorney as this would be a conflict of interest. Bishop Law Office, P.C. can provide mediation services for you and the other party, but once this is done, we would be unable to represent you if an agreement was not reached in mediation. If you would like us to be your attorneys, we can attempt to settle your case as your attorneys, or if you would like to attempt mediation, we can always refer you to a good mediator for purposes of attempting to settle the issues.
- Child Custody
Bishop Law Office provides quality representation in custody cases where the parties were married, when the parties were never married (paternity cases), and where the parties want to change a prior court order. If you have questions about child custody, visitation or parenting rights, contact one of our offices in Tempe or Phoenix, Arizona to schedule an appointment with an experienced lawyer.
- Property Division
At Bishop Law Office, our attorneys help spouses dealing with the complex issues and questions surrounding property division during and after a divorce. To learn more, contact one of our offices in Phoenix or Tempe, Arizona.
- Spousal Maintenance / Alimony
The firm will provide you with its opinions regarding spousal maintenance (whether you are entitled to it or whether you may need to pay it) during your consultation.
- Child Support
During your initial consultation with the firm, we will provide you with an estimate regarding what we believe you are entitled to receive for child support. Whether you receive child support depends upon who has more parenting time with the child and how much parenting time the other party has. Child support is based upon Arizona Statutes and written guidelines issued by the Supreme Court of Arizona. The amount depends on each parent’s gross income, childcare costs, medical and dental insurance for the children, day care or school costs, the children’s ages, whether the children have special needs, and other factors described in the Arizona Child Support Guidelines. The Supreme Court Child Support web page provides a child support calculator and additional general information.
- Relocation / Move-Aways
It is not uncommon for one of the parents to desire to move with the children out of state/or even to the other side of town. Relocation raises significant child custody, parenting time (or visitation) and child support issues, especially if the relocation is out of state. If one parent is contemplating moving out of state, both parents should consider consulting with a family law attorney. At Bishop & Martin Law Office, we represent parents dealing with issues surrounding relocation or move away requests.
- Protective Orders and Domestic Violence
At Bishop Law Office, our lawyers represent people dealing with protective orders and domestic violence. To learn more, contact one of our offices in Phoenix or Tempe, Arizona.
- Grandparents Rights
At Bishop Law Office, we represent grandparents seeking to protect the relationship they have with their grandchildren. To learn more about the state of grandparents rights in Arizona, contact a lawyer at one of our offices in Phoenix or Tempe.
- Premarital and Other Agreements
We help people draft prenuptial (premarital) and postmarital agreements that help protect their interest before, during and after marriage. To learn more about what roles these important agreements can play, contact an attorney at one of our offices in Phoenix or Tempe, Arizona.
