Law Firm Overview Free Consultation

Bordas & Bordas was created in 1985, with Linda and Jim Bordas as the founding partners. At that time Linda Bordas had just graduated from law school and passed the bar exam after practicing as a hospital pharmacist in Wheeling for many years. Jim Bordas already had a substantial history of practicing successfully in the Wheeling area since 1972.

Bordas & Bordas handles a broad spectrum of cases for injured plaintiffs. We have obtained record verdicts in diverse areas including tractor trailer wrecks, soft tissue, fibromyalgia myofascial pain problems, toxic torts, product liability, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence and bank and lender misconduct. Ask us about the details, newspaper accounts, and case summaries of these cases.

Bordas & Bordas represents victims of negligence on our roadways in trend-setting cases with substantial verdicts. We help people who suffer from a variety of muscle, bone, nerve problems and other personal injuries caused by negligent driving.

Bordas & Bordas attorneys help change the law for the better in West Virginia and Ohio with an appellate practice that focuses on vindicating the rights of injured victims. These cases bring about change in the way companies treat their employees, and hospitals, nursing homes, and physicians treat their patients. Our representative cases summarize a few of the major appellate decisions and trial results obtained by Bordas & Bordas.

Practice Areas

Practice Areas Description

- Car Accidents

At Bordas & Bordas, our experienced auto accident lawyers represent drivers, passengers, and pedestrian bystanders in serious claims. Our law offices serve accident victims in West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. We pursue compensation for damages including: medical bills, lost income, pain and suffering and potential effects of the accident – ongoing medical treatment, risk of re-injury. Motor vehicle wrecks are one of the leading causes of accidental deaths in our country. Careless drivers and people driving under the influence of alcohol inflict terrible suffering on American families every day.

- Truck Accidents

In the legal realm, tractor-trailer wrecks are not treated as ordinary car accidents. Laws and regulations that apply to commercial carriers and their employers are different from those in typical car-to-car accidents. Our knowledge of federal trucking regulations allows us to provide a strong voice for victims of commercial trucking accidents. At Bordas & Bordas, we offer experienced handling of cases involving: fatigued drivers – overtime hours, drivers’ logs; inadequate truck maintenance; unsafe operations; and inspections – brake inspections.

In each instance, an expert report, prepared by a qualified doctor, must be prepared and filed within 120 days of a birth injury. - Stockbroker Misconduct / Churning

Stockbrokers are bound by a fiduciary responsibility to act in the best interest of their clients. The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) has established a professional code of conduct that sets forth ethical standards brokers are expected to adhere to while acting in their capacity as fiduciaries for their clients. Stockbrokers who engage in excessive trading in order to inflate the commission they receive can be held financially liable for violating their fiduciary responsibility to their clients. Referred to as "churning," excessive stock trading costs investors each time a trade is made while exposing them to poor investments as well.
