- AUO 3D & Speeding Offense

Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the third degree (AUO 3rd) is the most common type of AUO ticket written in New York. In most cases, the person has been caught driving with a suspended or revoked license. AUO 3rd is a misdemeanor that incurs serious penalties and fines. If you are ticketed for a traffic violation and don't answer the ticket in the time allowed, your drivers' license will be suspended. You will receive a suspension notice giving you 30 days to correct the problem. If you ignore this notice, your license will be suspended and a judgment will be entered against you. Once this happens, being pulled over for any traffic offense will result in an automatic AUO charge. At Colwell, Colwell & Petroccione, LLP, we will seek to get your AUO 3rd charge reduced from a misdemeanor to a violation by clearing the underlying charge — such as failure to appear or pay a fine — and working with the prosecutor.
