Law Firm Overview

Ellis & Partners was founded by its current senior partner in February 1997. From the outset, we rendered exclusively commercial legal services, which is unlike any other Namibian firm of legal practitioners. We only deviate from this policy in as far as it can supplement our commercial legal services. In terms of this policy, we do not practice any criminal or family law.

In supplementing our commercial legal services, we have a conveyancing department boasting extensive experience in real estate, the transfer of properties, registration of securities such as bonds and notarial bonds, sectional title developments and related services.

In addition to the normal legal services related to a commercial practice, such as negotiating and drafting contracts, restructurings, financing, securitization, corporate governance issues, commercial litigation, mediation and arbitration, we offer vast collective experience in mining, banking, aviation, structured and project financing, labour matters, administrative law issues, broadcasting, information technology as well as matters relating to intellectual property rights.

We have been instrumental in assisting various international entities with the commencement of their business operations in Namibia; this process also includes the acquiring of employment permits and visa’s for the expatriate employees whom they intend to employ.

Our firm also provides our clients with full company secretarial services through our related company Protocol Secretarial Services. This company enables us to provide our clients with company secretarial services on an urgent basis. We always have shelf companies and closed corporations at hand and can do changes in company structures in the shortest possible time.
