Law Firm Overview
Enderton & Mathews, L.L.C. started in 2004 as Bankruptcy Express, L.LC. The founder, Stephen M Enderton, wanted to create a firm that provided services to people who had too much debt and didnt know where to turn. Unfortunately, it is all too common for attorneys from many of the firms to go into court and call out their clients name because they do not recognize them by sight. It is commonplace for firms to have paralegals meet with clients, prepare the documents and get the case ready for filing. An attorney might come in for a few minutes and "review" the work that the paralegal has done. Some firms even have paralegals meet with clients when other issues arise, and then have the paralegal prepare the documents for the attorneys signature without the attorney even meeting with the client to discuss the matter personally. Many firms in the Salt Lake valley have more paralegals than attorneys.Mr. Enderton wanted to work closer with his clients and provide them with more personal service. Our goal is for our attorneys to personally work with and get to know each and every one of our clients. Mr. Enderton had represented thousands of clients in chapter 7 and chapter 13 bankruptcies but wanted to do it in a better way. Mr. Enderton realized that there was far more to representing a client than simply covering the "legal" bases. Most clients found themselves in a very confusing legal system with little help from their attorney. Our goal at Enderton & Mathews is to not only provide legal services but to also help our clients understand what is happening in their case and what to expect in the legal process.
The firm added a divorce and criminal law attorney in 2005. However, we recently made the decision to discontinue providing services for divorce and criminal clients because it interferes with the real purpose for which the firm was founded, that is, to help those struggling with too much debt.
Fortunately, Sarah L. Mathews joined our firm in 2005, originally as an associate attorney. Ms. Mathews has proven to be brilliant in the practice of law and is now a partner. Our firms motto is quality, not quantity. Each client has a meeting with an attorney before a case is filed. That helps us to provide the highest quality of service to our clients. We want each and every client to believe that they are our most important client, because they are.
