As the first foreign law firm to be awarded a foreign law company licence by the Vietnamese Ministry of Justice, Frasers Law Company (Frasers) acted as a first mover amongst the foreign legal industry, endowing itself with the authority to advise on both Vietnamese and international law within one unified firm.

Frasers is a diverse and multilingual law firm, where eight languages are spoken within the office. The talent, skills and vast experience of our integrated team of foreign and local lawyers enables us to carefully cater to each of our client specific legal needs – whether they relate to Vietnamese and/or international law issues.

Freehills/Frasers have been advising clients on Vietnam-related transactions for over 16 years. In November 2004, Freehills restructured its Vietnam practice in order to take full advantage of Decree No. 87/2003/ND-CP of the Vietnamese Government dated 22 July 2003 on practising in Vietnam by foreign lawyers’ organisations and foreign lawyers (Decree 87), increasing the potential scope of our operations in Vietnam.

This resulted in the establishment of Frasers, which incorporated Freehills’ existing Vietnam operations. As an associated office of Freehills, albeit a separate and independent entity, Frasers maintains its strong relationship with Freehills through various means, including secondments, access to precedents, and administrative support. We have relationship arrangements with offices in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane.

We have advised leading international and Vietnamese corporations in relation to their business and investments in Vietnam.
