G&M Consulting, S.C., is a general practice law firm rendering services in various fields of law. While the firm is mainly engaged in corporate counsel, foreign trade and programs to foster exports, it is planned to serve other areas as well. The principal areas of the firm’s practice include general corporate, foreign trade, commercial transactions, secured transactions, real estate, immigration and naturalization, tax planning and tax litigation, labor intellectual property and administrative law, among the most relevant.

The office is one of the few legal firms in the country offering commercial Notary Public services as part of the areas of practice within the firm, thus providing a competitive edge to the Firm’s clientele portfolio in their business in Mexico. As such, the office is able to provide attestation (notary) services on commercial matters, including the incorporation of corporate entities, and is licensed to appraise all kinds of assets.

The general corporate practice area of G&M Consulting, S.C. is envisioned to provide assist its clientele in matters associated with incorporations, mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, dissolution and liquidation of various types of corporate entities, joint ventures, shareholders agreements and to assist them in their financing structures.

In the area of international trade and commercial transactions, the firm has helped importers and exporters from North America and Mexico to comply with the new trade framework established under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). The members are well acquainted with programs established by the Mexican government to foster exports and programs to obtain preferential duty rates such as IMMEX and prosec’s. In our commercial practice, attorneys have handled such diverse operations as domestic and cross-border commercial transactions involving agency, sales and distribution agreements and various types of secured lending transactions.

In the real estate practice, the partners of the firm have been actively engaged in real estate purchases, trusts, real estate developments (including projects in the so-called “restricted zone”), industrial parks, unilateral and multilateral mortgages, zoning and leases, among others, involving full domain and ejido (farming) property. The firm has also advised in transactions relating to water and mining concession titles.

The intellectual property practice of the firm provides assistance to domestic and foreign clientele in the filing of their trademarks, service marks and protection of copyright in Mexico. In franchising transactions, the firm has represented both franchisors and franchisees.

The firm’s immigration services are envisioned to aide Asian, European, North American and other businesspeople and their families acquire appropriate visa status to live and work in Mexico.

With the passage and enforcement of increasingly stringent environmental regulations, our attorneys have advised clients on new standards for land use, product development, and air pollution controls for their operations within Mexico.

The members of the firm have developed a tax practice to support and enhance all other practice areas and to assist our clientele in connection with their national and international tax issues. This practice area is engaged in almost all transactions of our firm that have a substantial tax impact. Attorneys in our firm are knowledgeable on double taxation treaty.
