BILL GRANDY: People who have been in a car wreck are generally concerned about three things. You know, one is getting their car fixed, getting a rental car and getting proper medical treatment for their injuries.

We take immediate steps to investigate the case, which is going to usually begin with getting a copy of the police report, and oftentimes going out to the scene and taking photographs. We then make contact with the insurance company to get our clients in a rental car and get the process of car repair started.

And as the case goes on, we're going to be in contact with their doctors to get medical records and reports and see if there's addition information we need about future medical care and permanent injury. Throughout the years we've developed relationships with some medical specialists in this area and we can make referrals where necessary.

We have good credibility with insurance companies because they know we don't just dabble in this. Person injury cases are our focus. BILL GRANDY: The type of person injury cases we handle are generally automobile accident cases, but also slip and fall, products liability, wrongful death, dog bites and other unusual cases that arise.

One thing people need to understand about slip and fall cases is that they don't automatically have a claim just because they fell on someone else's property. There's got to be some evidence that the owner of the property created the dangerous condition that caused the injury or that they knew about it and failed to correct it or to warn about it.

Product liability cases are, are complex cases and they usually arise out of situations where some type of product has malfunctioned or has been designed improperly.

In North Carolina, the procedure that you have to follow in wrongful death cases and the damages to a large extent are controlled by statute. And wrongful death cases have a two-year statute of limitations.

In North Carolina, there are generally three different kinds of dog bite claims. Cases where people are bitten by a dog that is a known vicious breed, cases where people have been bitten by a dog that has bitten someone before, and cases where dogs are running loose in violation of a city leash law.

We have a system in place that is set up to allow people to obtain compensation for their injuries, but it only works if they've got someone on their side that knows as much as the insurance companies know. We've been representing people who have been injured in accidents for over 25 years.
