Law Firm Overview

The Firm was established in 1997 to provide a wide range of legal services, focusing on those areas of law for which our collective legal experience has prepared us. Because we are a small firm, but with a diverse background of corporate and larger firm experience, we believe that as a team we can offer a high level of competency in serving our clients, without sacrificing the personal attention that is needed but often overlooked in legal representation. The firm has been A-V rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating available to any law firm in the United States, since its inception. The Firms practice is focused in six areas: Labor and Employment Law Consumer Law Business and other Civil Litigation Governmental Entity Law Real Estate and general office practice and Criminal Defense. In addition, the Firm offers Mediation Services in civil litigation matters.

THAD HARKINS is a San Antonio native. Undergraduate education: Southwestern University, 1976, magna cum laude. Graduate education in political philosophy at the New School for Social Research. University of Texas School of Law, J.D., 1981. He subsequently attended the Master of Laws program of Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, in federal civil litigation and employment law. Admitted to bar, Texas, 1982. Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Labor and Employment Law. AV-rated, the highest rating available by fellow attorneys for Martindale-Hubbell, the nation’s premier legal directory. Mr. Harkins is a frequent lecturer to attorneys, human resource managers and risk managers on employment discrimination, litigation, work-related injury claims and governmental liability for employment law claims.

MICHAEL LATIMER: Born: Syracuse, New York. Admitted to bar, 1987, Texas. Preparatory education, Adirondack Community College (A.A. 1979) State University of New York at Albany (B.A. Political Science, cum laude, 1983) legal education, St. Marys University of San Antonio (J.D. 1987) University of Texas School of Law at Austin. Legislative Aide, New York State Senate, 1982. Aide, New York State Attorney General, Consumer Fraud and Protection Bureau. Mr. Latimers primary areas of practice include Labor and Employment Law and Civil Rights Law Title VII discrimination, Age Discrimination in Employment and Wage and Hour Claims. He also handles criminal law cases and consumer law cases. Mr. Latimer is a frequent speaker on Title VII law, workers compensation retaliation and the Fair Labor Standards Act.

JEFFREY E. DAHL: Born: Seguin, Texas April 28, 1959 admitted to Wisconsin Bar, 1985, admitted to Texas Bar 1986. Education: Trinity University (B.A. 1981), cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa. University of Wisconsin, Madison, (J.D. 1984). University of Texas, Austin, (M.B.A. 1998). Mr. Dahl was previously General Counsel for Metroplex Bancshares, Inc., a bank holding company, in Dallas, Texas from 1987 until 1991, where he was in charge of commercial litigation, real estate closings, and general employment and corporate matters for the company. His current practice is focused in ERISA benefit appeals, consumer law, product liability, business, insurance bad faith. Mr. Dahl has also been an Adjunct Professor of Philosophy at the University of the Incarnate Word. Mr. Dahl is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Consumer and Commercial Law.
