Practice Areas Description
-Car and Truck AccidentsIf you have been seriously injured or have a family member suffer a wrongful death in a car or truck accident, speak with an attorney before settling with your insurance company. Too many people accept what their insurance companies offer, only to discover later the offer was insufficient to cover their damages. Even those who do not accept the insurance company's first offer might make a statement that can later hurt their chances of full recovery.
-Civil Litigation
Litigation can be costly without experienced representation. At the Law Offices of J. Randolph Ingram, II every action we take is subject to cost-benefit analysis. Though Mr. Ingram is well-known for his work as a trial lawyer, he can work toward a settlement if doing so is in the best interest of you or your organization.
-Criminal Law
Anyone accused of a misdemeanor should know that they have a right to an attorney present before answering any questions asked by the police. An experienced criminal defense lawyer can protect your rights while working hard toward minimizing your penalties. Even if they don't result in jail time, convictions for misdemeanors can have dire consequences in terms of employment, fines, or revoked driver's licenses. If you are charged with a crime or if you are issued a traffic citation or charged with DWI, the Law Offices of J. Randolph Ingram, II can fight to lessen your punishment or get you cleared of all charges.
-DUI and Traffic Violations
Drunk driving (DUI / DWI) and traffic violation convictions can carry heavy penalties. In North Carolina, you can lose your driver's license for an up to a year after your first DUI. At The Law Offices of J. Randolph Ingram, II our Cary DWI attorney can work hard to keep clients out of jail and away from other serious punishments.
-DWI
A DWI conviction can increase your insurance points and raise insurance premiums. Our defense attorney has experience handling cases that can affect insurance coverage and insurance premiums. He will aggressively defend your rights in order to minimize the impact of your drunk driving charge.
-Automobile Insurance Coverage
Every day people are injured or killed by another driver's negligent operation of his or her automobile. Often, the injured party or their family finds out that the negligent driver has no auto insurance coverage or minimum insurance coverage. Who then will pay for the medical bills, the lost wages, the future medical bills, the loss of an arm or the loss of life? It is critical that you be informed and are knowledgeable of the various types of insurance coverage available. You cannot depend solely upon your insurance agent for your coverage choices.
-Car Insurance Points
Car insurance points are not the same as driver's license points. These two point scales are separate and different. In addition to what is shown, a simple ticket may allow your insurance company to place you in the Reinsurance Facility Pool; a group of drivers that the company decides are risky drivers. All drivers in this pool pay an additional amount called a 'surcharge' which varies each year depending on past insurance claims. In years past, this additional surcharge has varied from 9.9% to 16%. There is no substitute, insurance-wise, for a safe driving record. On the other hand, there is no justification to mail in your ticket and money and lose the insurance breaks the law provides. Our firm can assist you in exercising your insurance rights. The legal fee will likely be far less than the insurance increases over its three year term!
-Medical Malpractice
Doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals have a responsibility to satisfy a basic standard of care. When they fail to do so, serious injury and fatalities can result. Many types of medical mistakes constitute medical malpractice. However, there are a few types of negligence that most commonly cause serious injuries and even wrongful death. Our Cary, Durham and Raleigh medical malpractice lawyer helps clients with any type of medical negligence.
-Misdemeanor Drug and Alcohol Offenses
We do everything possible in order to help mitigate the penalties of misdemeanor drug offenses. Our attorney takes into consideration all constitutional issues that may lead to an acquittal. This includes determining whether the police had probable cause to stop your car or had a valid warrant to search your premises. If police violated your statutory rights, we will fight to have the case dismissed.
-Motorcycle Accidents
When handling motorcycle accident cases, we do not seek compensation until we know the full effects of your injury. Clients suffering post traumatic headaches may need medical assessment beyond what they receive immediately after the accident. A bad head injury may result in wrongful death, warranting compensation for funeral expenses and loss of companionship in addition to pain and suffering. Failing to wait for these symptoms to manifest themselves can result in receiving too little compensation than what you deserve.
-Personal Injury
Do not agree to any initial offer from an insurance company, or make any statements to adjusters, without first speaking to a personal injury attorney. Insurance companies make money if they give you as little as possible; your lawyer, however, focuses on seeing you receive the money you deserve.
-Premises Liability
"Premises liability" is a legal term for laws holding property owners responsible for hazards on their property. When a person is seriously injured because of a property owner's negligence, the person should be compensated for all medical bills, pain and suffering, and lost wages resulting from the accident.
-Product Liability
Companies have a responsibility to not sell dangerous products. Regardless of whether it has a design flaw or manufacturing defect, if a dangerous product hurts someone, the companies involved must be held responsible. At The Law Offices of J. Randolph Ingram, II our products liability lawyer has the experience and resources to take on any company whose products have caused injury or wrongful death.
-Traffic Violations
A traffic violation may seem like a minor charge, but in reality, it can have a significant impact on your driver's license and insurance premiums. If you accumulate too many points from "minor" traffic charges, you may even lose your license. At the Law Offices of J. Randolph Ingram, II, we believe that every traffic violation case is important and requires the highest level of advocacy. Whether charged with speeding or DWI, our criminal defense lawyer will work hard to minimize the impact on your insurance and preserve your license.
-Wrongful Death
At such a difficult time, you should at least not have to worry about money. Our wrongful death attorney can get a surviving family compensation for lost wages, medical bills, pain and suffering, and other expenses arising from a fatal accident. J. Randolph Ingram, II will meet with you for free, and if he takes your case, he will not charge a legal fee until you win a settlement or verdict.
- Corporate Responsibility
As part of our civil litigation practice, we represent those who have claims against unscrupulous companies. Our lawyer is able to "pierce the corporate veil" and discover the truth about such practices as incorporation without sufficient capital, not keeping a book or registration up to date, shell corporations and more.
- Business Law
If you are setting up your own business, acquiring an existing business, or selling a business, we can assist you to make sure your interests are protected. We assist businesses with incorporation, partnerships, limited partnerships, limited liability companies (LLCs), professional associations, and non-profit organizations.
- Administrative Representation
We argue before various administrative agencies of the government on behalf of individuals whose rights, property or interests are being affected by government action. Mr. Ingram has handled cases involving coastal development before the Coastal Resources Commission, license suspension before the Division of Motor Vehicles and the Medical Review Board, as well as cases before other governmental agencies.
