- DUI Defense

- Secretary of State Reinstatement Hearings

If your driver's license has been revoked by the State of Illinois due to driving under the influence (DUI), you must attend a Secretary of State Reinstatement Hearing in order to have your license reinstated. The vast majority of people who attend these hearings without a qualified Illinois DUI / DWI defense lawyer are denied. Since January of 2009, Illinois law has required that even first-time offenders arrested for DUI must have a breath alcohol ignition interlock device (BAIID) installed in their vehicle in order to drive on a driving permit during the period when their driver's licenses are automatically suspended because of the DUI defense. . This ignition interlock law raises numerous administrative and legal issues that are best handled with the help of an experienced DUI defense lawyer.
