In 2009, there were approximately 4000 fatal pedestrian accidents, and 89,000 more injuries. As long as there are motor vehicles on the road, pedestrians will continue to sustain serious injuries and death.

On average, more than 350,000 people are treated for dog bite injuries in U.S. emergency rooms each year. Of those injured, approximately 42% of the victims of dog bites and attacks were children aged 14 and younger.
