REAL ESTATE
Our office has a solid history of representing clients in thousands of successful real estate matters. We are experienced in all aspects of residential & commercial transactions, including:
Sales & Purchases, For Sale By Owner (FSBO), Short Sales, Leases & Option Contracts, Section 1031 "Starker" Exchanges, Land Trusts and other such matters.
Our representation of clients in these matters is all inclusive and generally involves contract review, negotiation of inspection matters, title review and clearance, obtaining a survey, monitoring critical contingency dates, preparation of closing documents, verification of compliance with municipal requirements, and attendance at closing.
During every transaction our office maintains regular communication with our clients and works cooperatively with their real estate agent, lender and other important parties to the transaction.
WILLS & ESTATE PLANNING
Estate planning involves the creation of a will, advanced directives for health care and property, and often a living will or living trust. Each of these documents plays an important role towards empowering an individual to enact a plan to achieve his or her desired objectives for the management and disposition of property in the event of ones disability or death. We routinely assist clients in developing a custom estate plan designed to express their particular goals and giving them the piece of mind that comes from knowing they have properly provided for their loved ones.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Our office generally advises clients on business matters involving:
Sole Proprietorships, Partnerships, Joint Ventures, Entity Selection, Incorporations (C Corp, S Corp, LLC), Lease Review & Negotiation, Contract Review & Negotiation, Letters of Intent and other non-litigation business related matters.
Michael J. Murphy was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2000. Since that time he has concentrated his practice primarily in transactional matters involving residential and commercial real estate, estate planning (wills, trusts & estates), and business development, including entity ion and formation. Mr. Murphy majored in International Studies at DePaul University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude in 1997. Following DePaul he studied law at IITChicago-Kent College of Law and obtained his Juris Doctor (JD) degree in 2000. In 2005 he also attained the distinction of becoming a Certified Relocation Professional.
