Practice Areas Description
Our practice areas include:- Auto Accidents / Car Accident Injury
Auto accidents affect the lives of many people. In 2009, the Florida Department of Transportation reported that there were over 235,000 traffic accidents in the State of Florida, which injured approximately 200,000 people, and killed an additional 2,500. There are many causes of motor vehicle collisions, such as speeding, failing to obey traffic laws and using cell phones, as well as bad weather, roadway hazards or poorly maintained vehicles. Regardless of the cause of the collision, your life, as well as the lives of others, will be changed dramatically, if you are injured in a car accident.
- Motorcycle Accidents / Motorcycle Injury
While the operators of motorcycles have increased, this mode of transportation offers little protection when involved in a motor vehicle or a semi-trailer collision.
- Truck Accidents / Tractor Trailer Injury
The significant difference in the operating characteristics, size and weight of tractor trailer trucks versus passenger cars raise concerns for the safety of the traveling public, particularly on highways. To reduce the potential conflict between tractor trailers and passenger cars, the State of Florida has implemented laws restricting the speed, lane of operation, time or route of tractor trailers, 18 wheelers and large trucks.
- Bicycle Accidents / Bicycle Injury
While the operators of bicycles have increased, this mode of transportation offers little protection when involved in a motor vehicle or semi-trailer collision. Bicycles operate under the same traffic laws as motor vehicles, motorcycles, tractor trailers and buses. Throughout Florida there are bicycle lanes specifically designated for bicycles only. Motorized vehicles which fail to obey the presence of bicycle lanes could be considered responsible for striking a bicyclist.
- Drunk Driving Accidents / Drinking & Driving Accidents
Driving while intoxicated is a crime, with often severe consequences to innocent drivers, motorcyclists, bicyclists, passengers or pedestrians. Individuals involved in alcohol related accidents are often left with serious personal injuries that require long and expensive medical care. Accidents caused by drunk drivers cause physical, emotional and financial problems to both the injured person and his or her family.
- Wrongful Death / Fatal Accidents
If you have a spouse, child, parent or other relative who has passed away due to the fault of another, please accept my sincere condolences. Death is an unfortunate part of life. However, a premature death due to the carelessness or actions of another causes unnecessary grief to those close to the person who died. Losing a loved one due to the fault of another is a terrible tragedy, with extreme far reaching consequences, both emotionally and financially.
- Premise Liability / Slip & Fall Injury
According to the United States Center for Disease Control (CDC), falls are the leading cause of nonfatal medically attended injuries in the United States. Physical injuries associated with falling include fractures, contusions and lacerations. Hip, knee, leg and ankle fractures are especially debilitating for older adults. Injuries experienced as a result of falling may lead to a decrease in the ability to perform activities of daily living. At times, those injured in a fall do not return to their pre-level of physical functioning.
- Denied Insurance Claims / Insurance Law
The significant difference in the operating characteristics, size and weight of tractor trailer trucks versus passenger cars raise concerns for the safety of the traveling public, particularly on highways. To reduce the potential conflict between tractor trailers and passenger cars, the State of Florida has implemented laws restricting the speed, lane of operation, time or route of tractor trailers, 18 wheelers and large trucks.
