Melnikov Law is truly a law firm by an immigrant and for immigrants. As a first-generation American, I understand the unique challenges that immigrants face as they strive to succeed in this country. I appreciate that the lives and futures of my clients often depend on the quality of my representation, and I take my role as an attorney extremely seriously.

At Melnikov Law, PLLC, we have the requisite training, experience, and expertise to handle most areas of immigration law. Prior to starting Melnikov Law, PLLC, I have worked for established immigration firms and have learned from the best. I represent clients in family-based immigration matters (visas and “green cards” for family members of U.S. citizens and permanent residents, fiancée petitions and visas, immigration consequences of divorce, and waivers of inadmissibility) and employment and business immigration (H-1Bs, PERM and employer-sponsored green cards, E-2 visas for investors, etc.). I also defend clients facing removal in the Immigration Court.

I welcome immigration inquiries from out-of-state clients. Immigration law is unique in that attorneys licensed in one jurisdiction, such as Michigan, are authorized to provide representation before federal immigration agencies in all fifty states.
I have represented clients from Russia, Ukraine, Nigeria, Ghana, Italy, Germany, Albania, Philippines, India, Vietnam, Mexico, Hungary, and Canada. Whether it is an inadmissibility waiver for an undocumented spouse in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, or a cancellation of removal for a Canadian citizen right here in the Detroit Immigration Court, I will be by your side to defend your rights and to ensure that you get the best outcome possible under the applicable law.

In addition to my passion for immigration law, I also assist clients with family law matters (divorce, custody, adoption), bankruptcy, and criminal law (misdemeanors and DUIs). From my experience serving a diverse population, I found that legal issues in these areas often influence and are influenced by the immigration process.
