Law Firm Overview
Popovski Law Office was founded by Dragan Popovski in 1983. Mr. Popovski is now assisted by four lawyers, each specializing in different fields of legal practice: Aleksandar Icokaev, Angel Soptrajanov, Milena Veljanovska and Aleksandar Naskov.Our main scope of work includes foreign investments and privatization, banking law, insurance law, corporate law and intellectual property, as well as dispute resolution and criminal proceedings.
When necessary, we work closely with several independent experts to obtain appraisals on specialized issues. Experts with whom we often consult are financial advisors, certified public accountants and first-class practitioners in certain areas. Our office approaches each case as a whole and addresses each issue separately.
Our office has established long-term collaboration with several respectable international law firms to help us solve appraisals, with foreign-applicable laws where necessary.
Devotion to our clients is an absolute priority for everyone in our office, whatever their role and responsibilities. We place emphasis on taking time to understand our clients’ businesses and particular requirements so that we can meet their needs most effectively and contribute to their success.
We are aware that our reputation depends on trustworthiness and confidentiality. Our law office recognizes that during engagement with the client, the law office may receive, develop or otherwise acquire certain confidential information. All confidential information which the law office may now possess, may obtain during or after the term of engagement or may create prior to the end of its term of engagement will be held confidential by the law office. Also, the law office will not (nor will the law office assist any other person to do so) directly or indirectly reveal, report, publish or disclose such confidential information to any person, law office or company not expressly authorized by the client to receive such confidential information. The law office will not use or assist any person to use such confidential information except for the benefit of the client and in the course of engagement with the client.
However, the foregoing will not apply to the extent the law office is required to disclose any confidential information by applicable law or legal process so long as the law office promptly notifies the client of such pending disclosure and consults with the client prior to such disclosure concerning the advisability of seeking a protective order or other means of preserving the confidentiality of information. The law office understands that all confidential information is important and unique, and that it materially affects the client’s goodwill and its successful conduct of business.
We know that who we recruit and how we train them are critical decisions, which have a direct bearing on the quality of our work and the effectiveness of our service. As a result, we have defined criteria for evaluating potential additions to our firm. We also define our quality standards for practice and what we expect of each other and the responsibilities and standards which will help us to ensure that our clients are properly and consistently represented and advised. We look at everything from how work is allocated – to ensure that qualified lawyers are assigned – to the frequency and timeliness of client communication.
We recognize our ethical and professional responsibility to our clients, the courts and the public. We set the ethical codex, adopted by the Macedonian Bar Association, as our minimum standards for professional conduct.
