Reeves Aiken & Hightower LLP is a limited liability partnership between Robert J Reeves PC (Fort Mill/Charlotte) and Aiken & Hightower PA (Columbia). We are full service personal injury and criminal defense law firms. Mr. Reeves is an experienced litigator who has successfully tried cases in both federal and state Courts as well as workers’ compensation hearings and criminal trials. He is a former Registered Nurse (RN) and is admitted to both the South Carolina and North Carolina Bar. Mr. Aiken graduated at the top of his law school class and is a highly accomplished trial lawyer, handling complex civil and felony criminal cases in all Courts. He is a member of the prestigious Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Ms. Hightower is an experienced criminal trial lawyer and is a former prosecutor as well as a public defender. She has a real passion for children issues and regularly serves to protect them as a private Guardian ad litem.

- Brain Injury / Head Trauma
There is no more serious injury than a closed head or brain injury. Injured victims who suffer brain trauma seldom recover fully and are often left with permanent injuries that will change their lives forever. These patients are usually in comas and are kept alive on ventilators and powerful medications. In many cases, families have to make the heart breaking decision to let their loved ones go. As a former intensive care unit Registered Nurse (RN), Attorney Robert J. Reeves has personally treated head injury patients and helped their families cope during the during the most unimaginable time in their life. He knows and understands what you are going through.
- Criminal Defense
In civil cases, all twelve (12) jurors must be convinced. In criminal cases, only one (1) juror is needed to avoid a conviction and force the State to retry or plea your charges. With over twenty-one (21) years of litigation experience, Mr. Reeves stands ready to go to Court to fight for you. In our criminal defense practice, we request a jury trial and then carefully evaluate all evidence the State has against you. We then sit down and review your options on whether to accept a negotiated plea or go to trial. The decision, of course, is always yours. We will be there throughout the entire process and guide you to make the best decision.
- Traffic Tickets
It seems easy to get a speeding ticket these days. With all of the distractions in your car (radio, children, cell phone), you don’t even realize you’re speeding until you see a blue light in your rear view mirror. Oftentimes, the officer will suggest you simply pay the fine or come to Court and he will reduce it. Either scenario will result in significantly higher insurance premiums. Paying the fine is the same as pleading guilty to the charge. In addition, it may be very inconvenient to miss time from work or leave your home and take your children to Court. We can solve all of these problems.
- Nursing Home Abuse
As our parents and grandparents get older, their physical and mental needs start to change, sometimes very quickly. They become less able to care for themselves, and ultimately, need full time care. Undoubtedly, one of the hardest decisions in life is to put a loved one into a nursing home. You’ve heard the horror stories, and you immediately feel tremendous guilt and fear. You check out the available facilities, as best you can, and then hope and pray everything will be fine. We hope so, too. But, things don’t always turn out the way they should.

Because many of our clients are seriously injured from vehicle accidents or workers compensation claims, we also help them apply for Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) benefits. The same evidence that we develop as part of their injury case is then used to support their SSDI claim. We assemble all of your records and then give you a complete copy to submit for review.
