Law Firm Overview
Free Consultation
The Robert A. Koenigsberg Law Offices has been representing injured workers since 1996. In 2000, we began representing people with Social Security Disability/Supplemental Security Income (SSD/SSI) claims. Our attorneys focus on helping you navigate through bureaucratic systems, administrative hearings and the courts. With the new workers' compensation law in New York, this has become more challenging. Even so, the quality of our representation and the value that our experience brings remain high. Our clients continue to appreciate the results we have been able to achieve for them.
If you are applying for SSD/SSI benefits, you know that the process can be overwhelming. When you work with our firm, you will work directly with an attorney. We spend time with our clients and handle their cases from beginning to end. Unlike some firms, we do not pass your case from lawyer to lawyer or to a paralegal. You will benefit from our experience and personal service.
Practice Areas
Practice Areas Description
Our areas of practice include:- Workers' Compensation
Since 1996, the Law Office of Robert Koenigsberg has vigorously protected injured workers' rights in New York City and surrounding areas. While the workers' compensation laws have changed, the quality of our work has not. We believe our experience has become even more critical to injured workers while the workers' compensation system continues evolving. Contact us immediately following a work-related injury and we will explain how to file a claim with the New York State Workers' Compensation Board, as required under the new law. We will also review the details of your case to understand if a settlement is possible.
- Social Security Disability
Social Security disability insurance is a monetary safety net provided by the Social Security Administration to people with qualifying disabilities. Benefits are paid to individuals who have been in the workforce for a minimum number of years. Generally, you must have been employed for ten years, with five of those years prior to the date you became totally disabled. For impaired children or disabled adults without a strong work history, Supplemental Security Income may be an alternative option. At the Koenigsberg Law Office, we help individuals with serious physical, emotional and mental conditions to secure Social Security disability benefits. You may be eligible for SSDI benefits if you have not been or will not be able to work for at least one year.
- Workplace Injuries
Since 1996, our attorneys have helped people throughout New York City and surrounding areas obtain workers' compensation benefits for a wide range of injuries, including: Head injuries; Burn injuries; Amputations; Neck and back injuries; Eye and ear injuries; Carpal tunnel syndrome; Knee, shoulder and joint injuries; Post-traumatic stress syndrome/psychological injuries; and, Occupational illnesses and diseases caused by exposure to toxic chemicals and other hazardous substances. We also provide compassionate support to families who lost loved ones in fatal accidents in connection to their work. The attorneys at our law firm can help surviving family members obtain lifetime pavements for their loss.
