Rogerson Law Corporation is a Canadian law firm providing services in several areas of law. After more than a quarter century practicing cross-border litigation and asset protection structuring, we added additional areas of practice to better serve our clients, including: immigration, estate planning, real estate closings, probate, professional malpractice, family law, criminal defense and employment law. Present in five overseas jurisdictions and one other Canadian province, Andrew Rogerson established the current firm at Bay Street, Toronto, Canada in 2006. We extended our services by adding an office in Barrie. Clients in Dubai and London are serviced with bi-monthly visits.

All manner of commercial disputes have been litigated by us. Over a 30 year career, Andrew Rogerson has extensive experience as counsel, at trial and in appellate courts. - Asset Protection and Bankruptcy

We advise and structure domestically, to protect clients' assets from hostile spouses, clients and business partners. We litigate court cases to protect clients from bankruptcy and to seek discharges, for those who are already bankrupt when they come to see us. We advise on “painless bankruptcy” as means of getting a fresh start, free of debt and even help you lawfully obtain credit cards whilst bankrupt. If measures short of bankruptcy are preferable, we will explain those to you.

- Cross Border Litigation

Cross-border litigation is something that Andrew and his team understand, and can easily swing into action with in local courts, and quickly bring in their overseas colleagues to assist as required. Andrew Rogerson has spent his 30 plus year career litigating cases with an international element. He has practiced, and made his home, in exotic tax havens such as the Turks and Caicos Islands and Jersey, Channel Islands, as well as major financial centers such as London, England and Toronto.

- Estate Planning

No matter what size your estate is, a properly structured will is essential to ensure that those you wish to benefit are properly looked after with minimal disruption. Will drafting is a key element of our estate planning practice. In the more straightforward cases, where spouses are leaving their estates to each other, we can usually achieve all of your objectives in two visits. With the more complex estates, we bring to bear our significant experience in tax and liquidity issues. The firm regularly works in conjunction with our clients’ accountants and insurance advisers.

- Family Law

Deciding to get a divorce when there are children involved, is possibly one of the most difficult decisions in life to one has to make. Once this decision has been made, we can help with the legal details. If you and your spouse can agree on property division and any child-related issues, you can file what’s known as an uncontested divorce. Our location at the corner of Bay and Bloor, right next to Bay subway station, makes it easy for clients to come in and sign on their way to or from work, or at lunchtime.

- Probate

We advise executors of deceased estates on their duties and also are willing to act as executors ourselves. We are happy to just advise, or to perform the entire task. Our experience ranges from administering large estates in several jurisdictions, to advising a surviving spouse how to deal with a modest sized bank account and house. For those clients who feel confident in administering a deceased estate, but just want some guidance at the very beginning, we offer a one hour special consultation. During this, the whole process is explained.

- Criminal Defense

We cover all areas of Criminal Law. - Employment and Labor Law

We include employment law under the rubric of asset protection for two very good reasons. Wrongful termination can have a devastating effect on savings and retirement plans, as those who are wronged may often be unemployed for some time and have to draw on accumulated assets. On the other side of the coin, mischievous claims by former employees can wreak havoc on modest size trading and professional firms. In Joe Tascona, we have a team member with enormous breadth of experience in this area, both on Bay Street and in the Province.
