Law Firm Overview

Sajic Law Firm, a partnership in Banja Luka, was founded by lawyers Stojanka Sajic and Aleksandar Sajic in 2003. It is a joined firm formed by Law Office of Stojanka Sajic and Aleksandar Sajic, which was established in 2000 as continuation of attorney practice that Stojanka Sajic started in 1989 in her independent Law Office.

At this time, the firms has 22 employees: seven lawyers, nine expert associate and apprentices and three administrative employees. The main characteristics of lawyers and other employees are dedication to clients, dedication to work and constant tendency to achieve high ethical and professional standards.

Strategy of our business activities is directed toward constant improvement and development of services, cooperation and preservation of good business relations with clients and hiring of young high-quality cadre. Good business relations with clients are based on permanent communication, knowledge and long-standing practice in performing attorney tasks. All our employees are focused on achieving and maintaining high-quality provision of attorney services.

- Commercial Disputes

We represent companies and independent entrepreneurs in capacity of plaintiff or defendant in all types of commercial disputes before courts in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including especially commercial disputes for compensation of claims for delivered goods and executed services, disputes that result from disrespect of commitments from commercial contracts, compensation of damage, determination of property rights and other real property rights that were groundlessly obtained etc.

- Labor Law

Sajic acts as legal representative of employee, or legal representative of employer, in out-of-court and court proceedings related to protection of rights of employees that arise from labour-legal status. Furthermore, we provide employers with legal advices from the area of human resources and we develop rulebooks on labor, on protection at work, on systematization of job position, on payments, on disciplinary responsibility and disciplinary procedure, as well as other general and individual acts.

- Family and Inheritance Law

- Real Estate Trade

As representatives of sellers and buyers of real estate, we do the following: we participate in negotiations on conclusion of contracts; we collect and examine documentation required for conclusion of contract on real estate trade; we provide services of registration of change of real estate rights at competent institutions; real estate “due diligence”; etc.

- Denationalization and Restitution of Property

Sajic follows procedure of adoption of the Law on restitution, and, in accordance with the existing draft law, it performs actions with a goal to find and identify confiscated real estate, determine existing legal and factual status of property, prepare required documentation, and other actions in order to create conditions for obtaining rights of clients to return confiscated property upon the adoption of the law.

- Cadastre and Land Books

We represent clients in procedure of registration of acquisition, change and termination of property rights and other real property rights over real estate in Land Books and Cadastre Registers at competent institutions in the area of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- Out-of-Court Proceedings

We represent interested parties in all types of out-of-court proceedings, and especially in inheritance proceedings, proceedings regarding regulation of co-owner relations, expropriation etc.

- Court Register

Sajic represents physical and juristic persons in procedures of establishment of commercial companies, registration of status and other changes in court register of competent court and it also performs all legal acts including the following: development of foundation act and statute of company, submission of application to court register of competent court, submission of application in procedure of establishment of commercial companies to Statistic Institute of Republic of Srpska, Tax Administration and Indirect Taxation Administration, and provision of work authorization at competent administrative body etc.

- Registration of Foreign Investments

We cooperate with foreign juristic and physical persons, that participate as foreign investors in projects of direct or indirect foreign investments, starting from collection of information, “due diligence“ process, registration at competent institutions, to implementation of projects and provision of legal services throughout duration of projects.

- Registration of Associations of Citizens

We provide legal advices and represent interested parties in procedures of establishment and registration of association of citizens and non-governmental organizations, including development of drafts of foundation acts and participation in work of foundation assembly.

- Bankruptcy and Liquidation of Companies

We represent clients in capacity of creditors, including unsecured and secured creditors, in procedures of bankruptcy and liquidation, from the moment of opening of procedure, through registration of debts, accession to hearings etc.

- Administrative Procedure and Administrative Disputes

We provide services of representation in administrative procedures. In previous practice, Sajic as legal representative acted before almost all administrative bodies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, from local, through entity, to administrative bodies at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- Public Procurement

Sajic provides complete services in procedures related to public procurements and it assists clients in preparation of offer in accordance with tender documentation and existing legal regulations.

- EU Accession funds

Sajic prepares and develops service of assistance related to accession funds. This service will be offered to interested parties until the end of 2011.

- Consumer Protection Law

The Consumer Protection Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina arranges relationship between consumers, producers and merchants at the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Providing services to clients from the area, which is being regulated by this law, we cooperate with Market Surveillance Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina whose one of the main tasks is to provide systematic, harmonized and effective market surveillance system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- Due diligence of companies and real estate

Sajic has been for a few years, independently or in cooperation with experts from other areas, participating in procedures of due diligence of companies, projects and real estate.

- Exploitation of Natural Wealth and Concessions

As legal advisors we participated in a few projects related to use of concession in the areas of agriculture and energy, starting from preliminary procedures that include collection of information and documentation, “due diligence“, negotiations etc. to implementation of project itself.

- Taxes and Customs

We provide consultancy services in the areas of taxes and customs and also attorney services in procedures of obtaining rights before all tax and custom institutions of Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- Telecommunications

It has been a few years since we represent clients in the sector of telecommunications providing attorney services for the three largest telecom operators in Bosnia and Herzegovina (M:tel a.d. Banja Luka, BH Telecom d.d. Sarajevo, HT Eronet d.d. Mostar) and high number of smaller firms in this area.

- Work and Residential Permits

We provide services of obtaining work and residential permits for foreign citizens at the territory of whole Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- Acquirement and Termination of Citizenship

The Firm provides legal advices and services of representation in procedures of acquirement and termination of citizenship of Republic of Srpska, i.e. Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We represent clients before competent administrative bodies and authorized institutions in procedures of obtaining ecological, sanitary, health and other permits, and also compliances and studies related to environmental protection.

- Agriculture and Forestry

We advice juristic and physical persons (mostly independent agricultural producers) that are engaged in this kind of economy and persons who wish to obtain certain rights in procedures that are being conducted before ministries and other administrative bodies and organizations from these areas.

- Tourism and Catering Industry

In the area of tourism and catering industry, we represent clients in procedures of registration of agencies, companies and entrepreneurs, provision of required permits and approvals, and we also provide services of representation for a purpose of collection of claims in out-of-court and court proceedings.
