The law firm of Sołtysiński Kawecki & Szlęzak was formed in June, 1991, shortly after the onset of Poland's transition to democracy and a free market. Today, with fourteen partners, forty junior and senior associates, three attorneys in an of counsel capacity, twelve full-time paralegals, a support staff of 50 and two branch offices in Poznań and Katowice, SK&S is one of the largest and most established commercial practice law firms in Poland.

We have achieved the current market position, inter alia, by emphasizing in our recruitment and training policy the proper mix of thorough understanding of the Polish legal system and diversified exposure to foreign legal concepts. This policy has made us unique among other Polish law firms in at least one respect: most of our lawyers have studied and/or practiced law in Western countries. Among SK&S attorneys, one can find graduates and former research students from the London School of Economics, Oxford University, Columbia University, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Michigan, Bonn University, the Max Planck Institute in Munich, the Asser Institute and other well-known academic institutions.

We provide legal assistance throughout the whole spectrum of commercial practice, with particular emphasis on civil law, foreign investment laws, general corporate and securities laws, commercial transactions, financing and debt restructuring, banking, taxation, intellectual property, media and telecommunication law, antitrust and unfair competition laws.
