- Corporate Law

Stonecipher’s corporate practice provides a wide array of legal services to a variety of businesses and industries. The firm serves several of the largest privately held companies in western Pennsylvania in connection with their most important business transactions. Although many are based in the Pittsburgh area, these companies have operations throughout the United States. Stonecipher also represents many smaller and mid-sized privately held businesses, including various start-up companies.

Stonecipher plays a preeminent role in many of the region’s largest bankruptcy and restructuring matters. The firm is known for its depth of expertise in all aspects of debtors’ rights, creditors’ rights, and workouts and represents both business and individual debtors, creditors, creditors’ committees, trustees, and investors in bankruptcy and out-of-court restructurings. Litigation often plays a major role in bankruptcy and the firm has prosecuted and defended sizable fraudulent transfer and preference actions, and litigates other adversary proceedings often with millions of dollars at risk.

Stonecipher has been representing clients in various aspects of the oil & gas industry for over 20 years. As a result of the firm's long term experience in oil & gas, Stonecipher is well positioned to address and handle the issues that relate to the exploration of the Marcellus Shale throughout Pennsylvania.
