Triangle Law Group conducts an active collections practice, focused on debt collection matters for the construction industry, property managers, lending and finance companies. We also represent clients in other industries who face collection issues. We also handle foreclosures and mechanics liens and have extensive experience in collecting monies owed. It is important to act quickly if you are owed money on a construction issue because there are strict guidelines that apply to the filing of liens. We understand construction, the construction supply chain, and the law as it applies to collections, mechanics liens and foreclosures. We work to resolve disputes over debts as quickly and efficiently as possible, in a cost-effective manner. We have experience in searching real estate titles necessary to complete lien documents. Laurie B. Gengo, the founding partner and owner of Triangle Law Group, is a licensed real estate broker and puts her knowledge to work for the firm's clients. Our firm represents creditors and debtors in collections, foreclosures and mechanics lien matters, as well as general contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, owners, engineers, architects and individuals. We also represent homeowners associations dealing with unpaid dues and foreclosures for failure to pay.
- Judgments and Judgment Law
In North Carolina, the judgment creditor and judgment debtor have certain rights and obligations. There are many detailed federal and state laws that govern collection of judgments. There are significant penalties for creditors who fail to comply with these requirements. Moreover, people who had a judgment issued against them have the right to protect certain property from being taken to pay a judgment. If the judgment debtor does not ask for these exemptions, they are lost. At Triangle Law Group, we have substantial experience representing clients on both the winning and losing side of a case that resulted in a judgment. It is important for you to know what these rights are in order to protect yourself. The judgment collections process is very stressful and it is important to have legal representation in order to protect your rights.
