- Commercial Law

Our commercial practice is shaped by the growing needs of our clients, who have to deal with the challenges of doing business in an emerging economy and compete on a global turf. Our commercial practice is all encompassing, embracing:

* Asset Finance

Our experience in this area relates to structuring of equipment leases and similar finance arrangements. Whilst providing our services to financial institutions that offer asset-based finance we also advise small and medium scale enterprises (SME's) seeking this method of finance.

* Debt and Equity Finance

Capitalization is a very important aspect of business. Our experience in this regard includes advisory services to corporations, and institutional and individual investors.

* Investment

Under our Investment law portfolio we offer advisory services on the creation of investment schemes, offer for subscription of shares, registration of pension and provident funds and the creation of Unit Trusts and schemes involving other forms of financial derivatives. We also provide legal support and advisory services to venture capital companies and asset managers. * Corporate Restructuring

Our expertise in this field is practical and it stems from the various instructions we have successfully handled for and on behalf of clients. We were resource persons (in Nigeria) for the publication on global investment and corporate restructuring for the Centre for International Legal Studies Austria. We have diligently and consistently provided legal advice and due diligence support on direct foreign investment and divestment for a number of private companies, foreign companies and high net worth individuals.

* Employment and Pensions Issues

Our work in this area has involved structuring employment contracts and service contracts for senior executives; advising on share option and other similar employee incentives schemes. We also handle dispute resolution involving employment issues, and we offer tax advice on issues relating to expatriate employee remuneration.

* Joint Ventures

We advise on Joint Venture structuring and planning. Joint Venture is a popular feature in most industry sectors in Nigeria, particularly in Oil and Gas and Telecommunication.
