The Sierra Leone Bar Association is the umbrella organization of lawyers in Sierra Leone. It comprises of all the lawyers in Sierra Leone. It is the oldest Bar Association in Sub Saharan Africa. Its objects are as follows: a. To support and protect the character, status and interest of the legal profession in Sierra Leone. b. To concern itself with, promote and maintain professional standards, usage, etiquette and/or courtesy. c. To advocate for the independence of the judiciary.
