The purpose of law is to regulate
society in such a way as to
provide, among other things, economic benefits.
While the best way to accomplish this is as debatable
as are the questions of who should benefit, economy
does have a substantial effect on law. These effects
and their implications are covered in this section.
Principal areas affected by economics are antitrust,
banking, finance, securities, tax law, and tort law.
