The essential mission of the UW Law Library is to support and foster the learning, research, and service activities of the faculty, staff, and students of the UW Law School, specifically, and the UW, generally. The Law Library also serves as an important source of legal information for the State of Wisconsin.

The mission of the Marquette University Law Library is to support the scholarly, educational and research needs of the students and faculty of the Marquette University Law School and the University academic community. Though a private institution, we are open to the public for purposes of legal research, and we assist many individuals in accessing legal materials every day.
