Attorney’s Profile

Brad Pollock is a named partner with Walsh, Knippen, Knight & Pollock, Chtd. Prior to joining the firm, Brad practiced as a trial lawyer in Chicago, both as an insurance defense attorney and as an attorney representing the rights of injured people. This unique perspective assists Brad in his aggressive representation of his injured clients. Brad concentrates his practice in the area of catastrophic personal injury, including automobile/truck, professional negligence/malpractice and products liability. Brad has been awarded the distinction of being named a Super Layer (limited to the top five percent of lawyers in the State of Illinois) by Illinois Super Lawyers from 2008 to the present. Brad also received an appointment from the Illinois Supreme Court to serve on the Committee on Character and Fitness, Second District.

"Success in litigation is a product of unyielding advocacy, commitment and tireless preparation, built upon the foundation of strong client relationships." - Brad Pollock

Since joining the firm, Brad has successfully secured numerous settlements and jury verdicts on behalf of his clients in the millions of dollars. One of his accomplishments involved a 2 week medical negligence trial with firm attorney Ed Walsh that resulted in a verdict in favor of the Plaintiff in the amount of $7,287,083.00. The case involved a Defendant physician's failure to properly treat a non-cancerous facial tumor resulting in partial facial paralysis and disfigurement. The unanimous jury verdict far exceeded the Defendant's $500,000.00 settlement offer. Another one of Brad's accomplishments includes a $5,250,000.00 settlement in a products liability case involving an explosion at an engine testing facility. Brad has secured other million dollar plus verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients.

In addition to his busy practice, Brad serves as an invited lecturer/adjunct professor at Midwestern University speaking to students in the medical field on the Plaintiff's perspective on personal injury and medical malpractice litigation. He has also presented seminars to professional organizations, including one for the DuPage County Bar Association (DCBA) entitled, "Handling the Catastrophic Injury Case from Interview to Verdict."

Brad has received numerous bar association appointments. Brad served as the Chairman of the DCBA Civil Practice Committee in 2007-2008. In that role, Brad conducted a 4 week trial advocacy program offered to attorneys that wanted to sharpen their trial skills. The course was held at the DuPage County Court House and involved mock trials presided over by well respected DuPage Judges. The graduation ceremony held at our office included congratulatory remarks by Illinois Supreme Court Justice Robert Thomas. In 2009-2010, Brad served as Chairman of the DCBA Committee responsible for Continuing Legal Education. From 2007-2010 he served a term on the DCBA Judicial Committee, a panel that evaluates Judicial candidates seeking appointment or election to the Bench. Brad is currently a Board Member of the Inns of Court (DuPage County), an invited and limited membership organization of local attorneys and Judges; and is an appointed member of the Illinois State Bar Association's Tort Committee. He has also donated his time each year since 2000 as an invited Judge for the annual John Marshall Law School International Moot Court Competition in Information Technology and Privacy Law, involving law schools from all over the world.

Brad's other interests include spending time with his family and physical fitness. Brad competes in and has run numerous road races, including three marathons.
