Attorney’s Profile

Debra J. Reisenman, attorney at Markhoff & Mittman, P.C., was born in Bronx, New York, and grew up in Forest Hills, Queens. She attended high school in Manhattan at the prestigious LaGuardia High School of Music & Art where she studied voice.

After high school, she went on to study political science at the State University of New York at New Paltz, NY. During that time, she was active on campus, serving as the president of the Political Science Club. She was also a member of Phi Sigma Alpha—the national political science honor society—and won an award for Outstanding Student Leadership. Ms. Reisenman minored in creative writing and had a short story, titled "At Midnight", published in the Best Composition of New Paltz.

After receiving her B.A. in political science in 1991, Ms. Reisenman attended Albany Law School where she participated in various school oral advocacy competitions. In one of these competitions, the Senior Prize Trials Competition, she came in as a regional semi-finalist. Ms. Reisenman was also a member of The Justinian Society and received a certificate of appreciation for her participation in the People's Law Project.

After law school, Ms. Reisenman began her career as a trial attorney focusing on personal injury law. Her career progressed quickly and she became a managing attorney for a large private law firm in 1998. In 2011, she joined Markhoff & Mittman, P.C., to continue her work helping injured persons. Over the years, Ms. Reisenman has helped thousands of clients obtain medical treatment, lost wages, and monetary compensation for their injuries.

Ms. Reisenman is married and lives with her husband Richard and her two sons in New York City, New York. In her free times, she enjoys biking, swimming, camping, kayaking, and white water rafting with her family.
