Dr. Castillo focuses his practice in Commercial and Business Law, Foreign Investment Law, International Trade & Customs Law.Dr. Castillo counsels national and international clients in their business operations and commercial and financial transactions with potential with impact in the Dominican Republic, and provides legal consulting services for the establishment of new business and the purchase and sale of existing business, due diligence processes, agency, distribution, franchise and representation contracts, obtainment of licenses and authorizations, installation of free zones, lease and purchase of real estate and their financing .
As a lawyer, he has represented local and foreign companies in litigation, arbitration, conciliation, participating in the drafting and review of recourses and legal suits in first degree, appeals, Supreme Court, administrative recourses, counseling in litigation strategy and negotiation in civil, commercial, administrative claims, tax claims, among others.
As academic, Dr. Castillo is professor of Commercial and Business Law in Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) Law School and its joint program with Florida International University in the Master in Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) Programs and and has participated in several different legal, business and investment seminars, and is the author of several publications on Commercial/ Corporate Law, Customs and International Trade.
