The emergence of Ponzi schemes, credit default swaps, and the tightening of the worldwide credit market have led to a global economic slowdown. Global losses due to the credit default swaps have been estimated to fall in the range of sixty trillion dollars. Government bailouts worldwide are reshaping our understanding of quasi-governmental entities and reestablishing the parameters of regulation.
