New York State MCLE Rules

 Attorneys admitted to the New York State Bar after October 1997 are required to  complete 16 hours of approved continuing legal education per year during the  first two years of admission, including three credit hours in  ethics/professionalism, six credit hours in skills, and seven credit hours in  professional practice and/or law practice management.

By attending PLI’s one-day Bridge-the-Gap I:  Ethics and Skills for Newly Admitted New York Attorneys, you can fulfill your ethics and skills requirements.

Please note the following New York State MCLE Rules, effective January 15,  2002.

Partial Credit - Credit shall be awarded only for attendance at an entire course  or program, or for attendance at an entire session of a course or program. No  credit shall be awarded for attending a portion of a course or a portion of a  session.

Repeat Attendance - No CLE credit hours may be earned for repeating the  same course or program, in any format, even if the course or program is  repeated in a subsequent reporting cycle.

If you are a newly admitted attorney, by attending PLI’s Bridge-the-Gap I: Ethics and Skills for Newly Admitted New York Attorneys, you can satisfy all of your required ethics (three credit hours) and skills (six credit hours) requirements for one year.
