Description
This food allergen risk mitigation training will help you reduce the risk of food contamination, that can occur when allergens are introduced into foods, and cover best practices in dealing with an allergen-related food recall, in case a contamination accidentally occurs.
Why Should You Attend:
The FDA estimates that between 3 - 8 % of the population has at least one food allergy. This is close to 23 million people in the U.S. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency estimates almost 3 million Canadians also have at least one food allergy. In the U.S. between 150 - 200 people die per year from a reaction to a food allergen. The numbers of people affected by food allergens is steadily increasing, with a vast majority of the new cases being children.
During this webinar, we will present methods to reduce the risk of allergens being introduced into foods using HACCP, internal audits and GMP’s. We will give you a method to track and recall, if necessary, any food products that may have become contaminated.
Learning Objectives:
Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of
- Sources of allergens
- Different detection methods for allergens
- Allergen response protocol
