Advanced Compliance and Ethics Workshop 2013

 October 24, 2013 - October 25, 2013

CLE - Live Seminar
USA

Description

Legal drivers for corporate compliance and ethics programs continue to grow in complexity and importance. Compliance programs are now widely expected by enforcement personnel and key stakeholders, and good practices continue to evolve. In addition, the costs of non-compliance have never been greater. Enforcement risks increase as governments work together more than ever before, and harsh penalties are increasingly becoming the norm both inside and outside the U.S. Moreover, the whistleblower provisions of the Dodd-Frank Act have underscored in a broad way the general importance of compliance programs to effective mitigation.

At the Advanced Compliance and Ethics Workshop 2013, leading experts in the field will discuss current developments, heightened standards, and practical tips on how to ensure that your company’s compliance and ethics program satisfies increasingly rigorous standards. Learn about the latest and most effective approaches to program areas such as risk assessment, program structure and management, training and other communications, auditing and monitoring, helpline procedures and implementation, and how to keep senior management and the board informed about and contributing to the program.

  • How to leverage recent government pronouncements and standards to take your program to the next level
  • The most important international developments concerning anti-corruption and competition law compliance, including interpretations of the UK Bribery Act
  • The most significant recent developments in U.S. compliance and ethics-related law, including compliance terms of Deferred Prosecution Agreements, and Delaware case law on the Board’s duties of oversight
  • How to design and conduct compliance risk assessments to obtain the information that your program needs
  • Training and communications approaches that meet your organization’s needs but don’t break your budget
  • How to master the “hard edges” of compliance – investigations and discipline
  • State-of-the-art conflicts of interest, and gifts and entertaining policies and procedures
