Construction is a dangerous business and success requires effectively managing risk. An essential component of risk management is appropriate insurance coverage. Construction disputes – whatever their underlying source – are impacted by the coverage available (or not available) to the various parties on the jobsite. In light of the inherent risks, it is critical that anyone involved in construction have a working knowledge of the types of insurance policies likely to be triggered by a construction accident, defect, or other event, and stay informed of ongoing developments in the law governing such policies.
