Cyber Threats and Network Security Countermeasures: Keeping Your Intellectual Property Safe
May 7, 2013
CLE - Live Webcast
USA
Description
All companies, from financial institutions to technology firms to health care providers to law firms, are increasingly attractive targets for cyber attackers. As we have seen in recent news, compromise of a company’s secrets or customer information could prove devastating to its reputation and financial health. As a result, data security is now a necessity and not a luxury. So, how does a company, regardless of size, ensure that it does not become the vulnerable gateway for cyber bad actors to its own or its clients’ secrets?
Our speakers will describe the various cyber threats to a company’s technology infrastructure. They will discuss a firm’s security posture from not only network endpoints but also the inside end-users – often the weakest link. This program will, among other things, also consider the effectiveness of various strategies that may be utilized to minimize these risks to client data. Question to be answered include:
•How effective is email encryption?
•What types of protections are in place if my laptop or phone is lost or stolen?
•Do I definitively know our systems aren’t compromised simply because the anti-virus software gives a green light?
The speakers will also discuss how to prevent a person or a piece of malware from exfiltration of valuable data, and what legal recourses exist if data is in fact stolen?
