This conference will be a timely opportunity to consider the further steps that can be taken by government, employers and others to improve mental health support in the workplace.

It is timed to follow the expected publication of the independent mental health and employers review, examining how best to ensure employees with mental health conditions are enabled to thrive in the workplace and perform at their best.

Delegates will discuss the challenges for implementing the review’s recommendations and the further changes that could be made by government in this important area of employment policy. At this early stage, we expect sessions to examine the proposal for a new “partnership with employers”, challenges for equipping line managers with the tools and training to best support employees and further action for tackling discrimination and stigma.

The conference will bring together policymakers with key stakeholders including representatives of employers and trade unions, mental health professionals and campaign groups, lawyers, members of the HR profession, occupational health providers, academics, and members of the national and trade press.
